Winding Down from RT
The Romantic Times Convention was a wild week. I had several gasping fan girl moments. One was seeing #1 NYTimes Bestseller Victoria Alexander again and having her recognize me this time!
She gave me a wonderful cover quote for Touch of a Thief and was delighted to see that the book had received a rare starred review in Publishers Weekly. Not that this feisty lady isn’t perfectly secure in her own opinions, but she was happy to see that PW agreed with her. She loved Touch of a Thief and raved about it so much to Elizabeth Boyle (another favorite author of mine), I was blushing.
Victoria is one of a handful of authors whose writing allows me to forget I’m a writer too, so her praise for my work means a lot to me.
I had another fan girl moment when I realized I was seated next to NYTimes Bestseller Kat Martin for the mega-booksigning on Saturday. She was delightful company during the slices of time between meeting and greeting readers.
Besides seeing old favorites, I got to meet some new friends. Sarah Taney Humphreys, a fellow Sourcebooks author, was running around with her little smart phone taking video of the RT experience. Here’s the link to her YouTube video: Romantic Times Experience

Attention Blog Touristas! Join me today at Word Wenches, a group blog with some of the heavy hitters of historical romance–Jo Beverley, Nicola Cornick, Loretta Chase, Mary Jo Putney and others! This is a blog I lurk on with frequency because their historical insights are always so fascinating, but today I’m actually the writer. I’m still pinching myself. If you have a moment, I hope you can pop over and leave a comment. I’m giving away a copy of Touch of a Thief to a randomly chosen commenter!
