Last Minute Gifts
Not only am I the Anti-Shopper, I’m a bit of a procrastinator too. Today is my final push for gift buying and I’m hitting a few brick-and-mortar stores to do it. However, for last minute presents, there’s nothing like letting your fingers do the walking. Here are a few suggestions for the romance readers on your naughty-or-nice list.
In the grand tradition of Dickens’ A Christmas Carol, my Plaid Tidings has a few characters who are . . . corporeally challenged. That’s right! A few ghosts are mixed in with my Scottish romance. Spend some time in wild, snowy Bonniebroch Castle with Lord Alexander & his new, unexpected bride!
Plaid Tidings is nominated for RT Reviewers’ Choice Best Scottish Romance 2013!
Theresa Romain’s Season for Scandal
Jane Tindall has never had money of her own or exceptional beauty. Her gifts are more subtle: a mind like an abacus, a talent for play-acting—and a daring taste for gambling. But all the daring in the world can’t help with the cards fixed against her. And when Edmund Ware, Baron Kirkpatrick, unwittingly spoils her chance to win a fortune, her reputation is ruined too. Or so she thinks, until he suggests a surprising mode of escape: a hasty marriage. To him. On the surface, their wedding would seem to satisfy all the demands of proper society, but as the Yuletide approaches, secrets and scandals turn this proper marriage into a very improper affair.
When a rakish lord discovers he’s the hero of a wallflower’s torrid diary, he rewrites it to suit his desires . . . with the most unexpected consequences.
Handsome as sin and scandalously rakish, Cam Westfall, the Earl of Bedwyr is every young lady’s wickedest dream. Shy wallflower Princess Jacqueline of Sensaire knows this better than anyone, because her dreams are full of the breathtaking earl’s kisses. And not only her dreams—her diary too. But when Cam discovers the maiden’s not-so-maidenly diary, will her wildest Christmas wishes be fulfilled in its pages . . . or in his arms?
Grace Burrowes’ Lady Sophie’s Christmas Wish
All Sophie Windham wants is peace, quiet and the novelty of a little solitude in the Duke of Moreland’s London mansion before she joins her family for Christmas at the family seat in Kent. In the middle of a very inconvenient London snowstorm, Sophie finds herself stuck with an abandoned baby, and only the assistance of handsome stranger Vim Charpentier standing between her and complete disaster…
Vim Charpentier‘s worst memories are of Christmases spent with family in Kent, so when he has an excuse to tarry for a few days in London, he willingly lends a hand helping Sophie and her new little charge become acquainted. The growing attraction he shares with Sophie warms both their spirits, but when Sophie’s three brothers arrive (from the East) to whisk her away, Vim has to decide between facing his memories, or letting the Christmas gift of a lifetime slip through his fingers.
My Lady Below Stairs
Nobody misses Lord & Lady Hartwell’s Christmas Ball, but they all go for different reasons. When Lady Sybil runs off with an Italian portrait painter, her bastard half-sister Jane Tate goes in her place. Lord Eddleton plans on proposing to “Sybil” under the mistletoe. Lady Darvish is on the hunt for her fifth husband.
And Ian Michael MacGarrett, the head groom with more than horseflesh on his mind, is determined to show Jane that love doesn’t have to pretend.
