Feelin' the Love

I was at the Romantic Times Convention in Columbus, Ohio all last week. For the first couple days, I was teaching Bobbi Smith and Judi McCoy’s Aspiring Writers. What fun groups! They were all so eager to learn and all right where I was just a few years ago. The writers were very appreciative of those of us who came in early to teach and in my case, they showed it in such a gratifying way.

At the Kensington morning mixer, all the Kensington authors took the stage to introduce themselves. My new editor, Alicia Condon, sent me up onstage with the rest of them, even though Touch of a Thief won’t hit the bookstore shelves till May 2011. I figured no one would know or care who I was, but I decided to put a bold face on it.

As soon as I said, “Good morning! I’m Mia Marlowe” all the aspiring writers started whooping and applauding as if I was a NYTimes Bestseller! I’m sure the rest of the attendees were thinking em”Who’s Mia Marlowe? And why don’t I know her?”

Anyway, it was a grand moment and I want to give all my “aspirings” a shout out for it. Thanks so much!

I love going to RT early to work with the aspirings. It#39;s not as hectic as the rest of the conference and you get to know people better. br /br /I#39;ve been given so much help from other writers over the years, it#39;s a pleasure to pay it forward.
